Minutes of Chapter Meeting

  • April 13, 2004 Meeting at Lane Aviation, 5:30p.m.

Report to PAMA members, April 17, 2004

    Opening:
Louie Fura opened the meeting with thanks to everyone who advised of their intent to attend. This helps very much with planning and success of the meetings. He also shared with everyone the results of the Science Fair judging and awards. Special thanks go to Jeff Gruber for his planning and coordination of the chapter involvement, and to Lowell Dowler for the fine web page showing the results. Check it out on the COPAMA.org website. He also reminded everyone of the 2nd Anuual COPAMA Golf Scramble. Finally, Louie advised that we had attempted to resolve a question about relationship with PAMA National. He suggested that he would write a letter of response to national; Speaking as a member of the board, I would like to hear from each of you about membership in PAMA National. e.g. what are your thoughts on cost, benefits, expectations, concerns, etc. Let any me or any board member know your thoughts or concerns.

    Announcements:
The COPAMA 2nd Annual Golf Scramble has been set for Friday, June 18, 2004 at Kyber Run Golf Course near Johnstown, Ohio. For more information and registration, call Jeff Gruber at 614-287-7105 or go to www.copama.org for updates over the next few weeks.

April's attendance was 51 people! A special thanks go to each and every one of you for your support of the chapter, scholarships and participation in civic events!

We also had an opportunity to meet, talk with and honor two new Charles Taylor Award recipients; Glen McCauley and Wes Hines. A nice cake was provided and a great meal as well.

    Presentation:
The evening's presentation was a Honeywell Engine Presentation by Tom Memering, Turbine Engine Specialist. Tom spoke of technical achievements and reliability in relation to industry standards. His talk was straight forward and down to earth pertaining to troubleshooting and manufacturer's airworthiness objectives. A lively discussion followed. We look forward to hearing more from Tom.

Thanks go out, again, to the sponsors of the raffle; Lane Aviation, API and ASCO, Bizjet, Mid Coast, and others. Your participation is of great value to the success of the chapter, and is greatly appreciated.

Finally, we would like to welcome aboard new members:
Perry Chappano, Christopher Green, Richard Howard, Craig Kinmon, Mike Bridgeford, Kevin Karam, Jonathan McKinney, William Eads, Jean Richardson and Wes Hines.

Yours in professional aircraft maintenance, Cliff Kelling, Secretary
