Minutes of Chapter Meeting


  • November 9, 2004 Meeting at Lane Aviation, 5:30

    Opening:
    Louie opened the meeting with a reminder of the new "Jobs" page on the COPAMA home page. He announced that the Southwest Michigan PAMA chapter is holding a Maintenance and Pilot Seminar at their annual Great Lakes Aviation Conference, Jan 20-22, 2005. They looking for contestants and sponsors for the Maintenance Olympics. More on that subject later. The membership voted on Board Members. Election results will be posted shortly. 

    Presentation:
    Tonight's meeting was sponsored by Ed Bannen, Great Lakes Area Sales Manager of Honeywell Aerospace Electronics Systems. Jim Mulkins gave an excellent overview of Honeywell's Enhance Ground Proximity and Warning System. He explained the purpose the forward-looking systems and worldwide terrain databases. He explained the functions of the software, modification, updates, troubleshooting and cautions related maintenance. A short demonstration on the self-test feature was very helpful. More information can be found at EGPWS.COM. An excellent presentation of the modern application of computer enhanced electronics for improved flight safety.

    Finally, REMEMBER, the December meeting with Dr. Kathy Sullivan is our holiday meeting and an opportunity for us to participate in the advancement aerospace science in our community.
