| Minutes of Chapter Meeting
Minutes of 09-13-05 Meeting: Lowell Dowler opened the meeting with a reminder of the fall season activities and a welcome to a new season. He encouraged everyone to follow the link to the http://www.pama.org site and review the new SAE affiliation. Also, Mr. Kevin Karam was recognized and awarded the latest $500 student scholarship. Congratulations! And, all you folks with AIRNET--We missed you! Thank you for all your past support and participation. Presentation: The presentation, by Mr. Rob Robson, with Goodyear, was a refreshing review of the unique differences between automotive and aircraft tires. He started with a history of Goodyear, including the Blimps, and discussed tire design: Bias, Radial and Belted. Other differences included inflation characteristics, heat, deflection, speed, acceleration and load differences. Also, Rob made a fine presentation on why radial tires are not in wide use on aircraft, including re-treading, cost and other. It will be the chapter's pleasure to have Goodyear back to future meetings. The Golf Outing Friday, September 16, 2005 at The Landings, Rickenbacker Golf Course.
