Minutes of Chapter Meeting
February 8, 2005 Meeting at Lane Aviation,
5:30
Opening:
Louie opened the meeting with a welcome to everyone and
announcements about the Michigan Chapter's Olympics. He advised that
the golf outing this year would be in September, and volunteers to
serve on committees would be important this year and greatly
appreciated. Jeff Gruber invited everyone to consider assisting with
this year's Science Fair on March 19th. Also, we welcomed 35 members and guests to the meeting. We
look forward to seeing you in March.
Presentation:
The meeting was sponsored by Montreal Jet Center and hosted and
supported by Lane Aviation and a host of members of the
aviation industry. Peter Haug, with Cryotech Deicing Technology provided an interesting
overview of the technology of ice-control.
He reviewed their facilities and the development of anti-icing and
de-icing technology. He spoke of:
Color-coding of anti-icing fluids
Application techniques
Hold-over times and guidlines.
Peter answered many questions and presented excellent examples of
ice-control chemical characteristics. We need to invite Peter back
for another fine presentation next year. Everyone took something
worthwhile from this meeting.
We thank Montreal Jet Center and Peter Haug for a great evening.
The Central Ohio Professional Aviation Maintenance Association wishes to thank the many raffle sponsors for their contributions and members for participating in these worthy meetings.
Finally, REMEMBER, to mark your calendar for the March 8th meeting sponsored by Aerosafe - topic, Aircraft Accident Investigation.
Yours in professional aircraft maintenance, Cliff Kelling, Secretary
